The first non-profit “through train” private independent school in Hong Kong for students 6-18, established in 2002. Occupies a beautiful 25.000Sq M campus with a swimming pool, sports field, auditorium and more.
The school uses its own curiculum for Years 1-8. One highlight of this curriculum is the use of readers and novels as the main teaching resource for language teaching.
Students sit the IGCSE at the end of Year 10 and pursue the IB Diploma Programme in Years 11-12.
Authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme since April 2011, the programme is taught in English.
Aims to promote the ideas of whole person education and of life-long learning through a diverse curriculum.
The school uses Cantonese in P1 to teach Chinese. Thereafter, more is taught in Putonghua. The vast majority of students are from Cantonese speaking families and Cantonese is used in some lessons. The English teaching is strong, all taught by native English speaking teachers.
Each day, recess is designated as either English speaking or Putonghua speaking, though kids speaking Cantonese are not scolded.
Every applicant is interviewed. The interview is about 90 minutes, including warm up time and games.
With six classes in each year and a maximum class size of 27, about 160 places are available at P1.
